After battling the post-Carnival crowd in Luzern (who apparently ate everything in sight :)), Restaurant Barbatti came to the rescue! Sure, the menu looked a bit thinned out, but the waiter saved the day by suggesting alternatives. Every single bite was spot-on delicious. Barbatti has this wonderfully formal vibe without feeling stuffy, and the staff is genuinely caring. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

the food was great, although service was really bad after we finished our main. it took an hour between finishing the main to get the dessert menu. the linguine veneziane was a seafoody putanesca sauce, with perfectly cooked king prawn. the special chantarelle pasta was also good, has a cheesy savory flavor. would also recommend the prosciutto with mozzarella. the meat is sliced fresh and the mozarella is so creamy it’s almost burrata.

This Italian restaurant offers a compelling menu and the waiters are super attentive even for inside seating. Our waiter in particular patiently helped us pay partially. The portions were perfect for the price, not too pricey but what you would expect. Great place to come for Italian cuisine in Luzern!

Excellent menu and atmosphere. This is NORTHERN Italian cuisine so think creamy and white wine sauces and seafood meat dishes, not your southern heavy tomato sauces and meat balls. Wait staff spoke very little English and did make us feel a little uncomfortable about it. (That is coming from someone who is bilingual in English and Spanish and not a rude "I expect everyone to speak to me in English" style traveler. I heavily recommend the point to your food item and keeping a menu.

4.5 stars overall. Barbatti is a classy Italian restaurant with wonderful service, elegant surroundings, and good food. My husband enjoyed his branzino on wild rice. My lamb chops were tender and juicy, but the side of roasted potatoes was tough and flavorless, which detracted from my meal. Our waiter Andrea was friendly and professional, and he made good wine suggestions to go with our meal. We love the Bindella group restaurants and will continue to frequent them.
